Press Release:

Branded Arts is thrilled to bring their week-long festival to LAUSD’s Manual Arts Sr. High School later this month. Having facilitated over 700 mural projects in over 70 cities around the world, Branded Arts continues their 9-year-long partnership with LAUSD in 2025, bringing not only world-renowned muralists, but an education component that empowers students to understand and pursue a career in the arts. Dedicated to working closely with the schools and surrounding communities, Branded Arts presents an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage with established muralists, come up with themes for the work itself, and participate in every aspect of the arts process from gallery creation to painting.

Branded Arts ensures a comprehensive curriculum that encourages school pride, collaboration, and curiosity. From April 28th to May 1st, Manual Arts Sr. High School will see works from artists including Ozzie Juarez, Shepard Fairey, and Tochtlita, Atlas, Augustine Kofie, Christian Garcia Perez, Danie Cansino, HERA, Jesica Burlaza, Josh Everhorn, Jams Signs, Ken Flewellyn, Karina Vasquez, and Mike Reesé.

With both internationally-acclaimed and local artists participating, the Branded Arts Festival serves to strengthen and enrich the surrounding community, forging unparalleled connections between the artists and the students. Students will not only be involved with mural production, but also a carefully-curated arts symposium with collaborators including the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the Office of Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Versa Dance Company, Dreamhaus.org, Soapbox.us, Behr paint, Sony Pictures Animation, and Hijinx Arts.

The day, which serves to open students’ eyes to a world of jobs within the creative economy, will feature a wide array of artistic opportunities from Virtual Reality to Spoken Word. As Branded Arts President Warren Brand explains, “This project is all about creating a sustainable community enrichment through the arts. By participating in these projects and programs, students will have a greater sense of pride and empowerment for their school and their community.” Dr. Lavon Flowers, Principal of Manual Arts High School, conveys the school’s excitement about the upcoming festival saying, “Manual Arts High School is thrilled to partner with Branded Arts for our upcoming mural festival, art symposium, and gallery showcase. This incredible celebration will showcase how Art has the power to inspire, uplift, and ignite passion in our students, and this event highlights its vital role in education.
