Jose Di Gregorio is an interdisciplinary artist born in Puerto Rico and currently living in Sacramento. He studied at Pont-Aven Contemporary Art School in Pont-Aven, France and received his BFA in painting from Herron School of Art and Design.
Jose’s is known as an “artist’s artist” in Sacramento. His art can be seen in several public spaces around the region, and both his reach and reputation continue to grow. He has had his art showcased on bottles for Ruhstaller Brewery, participated at Art Basel in Miami, and was selected to do a mural for the Wynwood Arts District.
His paintings and murals focus on geometric patterns with vivid gradient colors and celestial nightscapes. The line-weight in the drawings often stay the same, yet the renderings create depth and form, by way of overlaps and repetition. As a result, the work can be regarded as ethereal in nature.
