Responding with whatever materials are most suited to interpret the meaning of a place, from paint, steel, and cement to words, Taylor is driven by curiosity, site and audience. Taylor has been creating site-specific installations and paintings since 1977, including over thirty large-scale mural and sculpture projects in the Sacramento region since returning to Sacramento from LA in 1984. Her work is in private and corporate collections from coast to coast, and in Kyoto and Paris. Taylor was one of the first artists to employ large-scale digital media for a fine art installation, in 1997.
Taylor has created work for major institutions including Disney, Hilton, Hyatt, Bally’s, MGM, Harvey’s, City of Los Angeles. Local projects include Raley Field, Regional Transit, Lyon Realty, Beer’s Books, Fremont Park, Crocker Art Museum and California State Railroad Museum.
